Byrne Custom Woodworking has come a long way since it’s humble beginnings in 1989 when Ian Byrne built his first cabinet in a friend’s two car garage in Kansas City. The company first opened up shop in Grandview, MO and soon moved to a 4000 square foot metal building in Southwest Boulevard in Kansas City. For the last several years, Byrne Custom Woodworking has operated out of a 100 year old 16,000 square foot building in the historic West Bottoms area of Kansas City. In 2003, Ian was presented with a unique opportunity to move his business to an underground facility, in Lenexa, KS, located in the Meritex Underground Complex off 95th St and I-435.

Byrne Custom Woodworking’s artisans and craftsmen now design and create custom woodwork in a 32,000 square foot “cave”. This “cave” is the ideal environment for the craftsmen to create a consistently refined and unique product because of it’s climate-controlled working environment. Clients are encouraged to visit our state-of-the-art facility and see first-hand the passion that is revealed through the craftsmen’s hands.
